Samsung Sends Samsung Foundry R & D Center To Catch Up With TSMC?

Samsung Electronics coveted the foundry market, sources said, Samsung quietly set up the Foundry Research and development department dedicated to catch up with TSMC.


Yonhap reported that Samsung's device solution department is in charge of the chip business. It is said that the foundry R & D center has been established recently to strengthen the strength. The unit has already had 8 R & D centers, including memory, System LSI, semiconductor, packaging, LED, production technology, software, and panel.


Earlier this year, Samsung announced that it had vowed to become the second largest chip plant in the world, with annual revenue of $10 billion.


At the beginning of the year, "Samsung Advanced Foundry Ecosystem (SAFE)" was set up and the relationship between major customers and high Qualcomm was strengthened to enhance the growth engine.
