Polycrystalline Solar Panels Are Good Or Single Crystal Solar
- Aug 02, 2018 -

(1) monocrystalline silicon solar cell

At present, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of monocrystalline silicon solar cells is about 15%, the highest is 24%. This is the highest photoelectric conversion efficiency of all kinds of solar cells, but the production cost is very large, so it can not be widely and widely used. Because single crystal silicon is generally encapsulated in toughened glass and waterproof resin, its durability and service life can generally reach 15 years, up to 25 years.

(2) polycrystalline silicon solar cells

The fabrication process of polysilicon solar cells is similar to that of monocrystalline silicon solar cells, but the photoelectric conversion efficiency of polysilicon solar cells will be reduced much, and the photoelectric conversion efficiency is about 12% (the world's highest efficiency polycrystalline silicon solar cell with the efficiency of 14.8% in Japan in July 1, 2004). From the cost of production, it is cheaper than monocrystalline silicon solar cells, the material is easy to be made, the electricity consumption is saved, the total production cost is low, so a lot of development has been achieved. In addition, the life of polycrystalline silicon solar cells is also shorter than that of monocrystalline silicon solar cells. In terms of performance price ratio, monocrystalline silicon solar cells are still slightly better.
